The homestay was wellmaintained, neat, and clean. Its located within walking distance of Varkala Beach, though the road back from the beach has a slight incline. The property itself is quiet and very pleasant, making it a comfortable stay overall.

Another wonderful stay at Varkala Villa, we will return again and again, and always recommend it to our friends visiting Varkala. The location is perfect, quiet and 2 minutes walk to the beach. Binu is very thoughtful and welcoming and will help you with anything you need. Rooms are spotless and Sheeba and Nandhini are always around to give a friendly smile. They made us breakfast everyday, helped to care for our baby while we ate, made ginger tea for my mother when she was unwell. We felt at home. As well as this the rooms are a very reasonable rate especially given that other nearby properties are charging much more for lower quality rooms. Highly recommend.

Pros: We had a great experience in Varkala Villa. Rooms & bathrooms were very clean. A/c was also perfect. The place is almost near to the attractions around Varkala. Cons: We arrived the villa at 9:30am since we travelled on the train, we weren't allowed to do early check-in though the rooms were available and we were charged 1k extra for taking a room. Many hotels allow early check-in as a good gesture. Overall it was a nice stay.

Our experience at Varkala Villa was disappointing. We were repeatedly pressured to shift to another property despite having a confirmed booking, asked to pay in advance even though it was clearly mentioned as pay at hotel, and on the day of check-in after paying in advance we were again told to move as someone else was supposedly staying there. Although the room was clean and the stay was comfortable, basic amenities like hand towels were missing, there was no provision for the cab driver, the place was not worth the price and it is not a beachside property. The lack of warmth and a welcoming attitude was surprising compared to the hospitality we experienced elsewhere in Kerala; we hope they take this feedback positively and improve their services in the future.

Good evening, I just spent 17 days at Varkala Villa. In this place, you find serenity and peace; it is very calm, given that there are only 4 bedrooms in total, 3 of which have a bathroom and toilet. This place would be, for us in France or elsewhere, a kind of family guesthouse. There is a garden with a pleasant terrace in front and another smaller terrace upstairs overlooking the lower part of the villa, and at the very top, a very large terrace where I was able to practice yoga classes very early in the morning. It is magical with the birdsong and, of course, not forgetting the famous crows. Now let's talk about the staff. There are two ladies who come every day and work all day. They clean the rooms, change the sheets, and clean the dining room. They also prepare traditional Indian cuisine and offer a purely local breakfast: dosa masala, pori, idly, etc. Another week in this place, barely 800 meters from the sea, to enjoy this haven of peace a little longer.
